Reinforced concrete pipe (RCP)

The reinforced concrete pipe (RCP)is a pipe with a prestressed concrete core. It consists of a primary tube made of centrifuged prestressed concrete, a high-strengthsteel winding wrapped under controlled tension around the primary tube to impart tangential prestress, and an outercoating of high-frequency vibrated concrete designed to cover the prestress ingstrands.

The pipeline thus constructed can with stand surcharge loads of up to 6.00 meters of embankment height as well as rolling loads of 30 tons and more. This type of pipe isused at the outlets of dams for drinking water supply and for irrigation in agriculture.
